and ultimately settled in Nanaimo with their son. They lived in Alberta and the interior of B.C. Maria and her new husband Mike moved to Canada in 1950. She and her family overcame many obstacles, and later she joined the Polish army. During the second world war Maria, aged 18 years, along with her parents and seven siblings, was sent to a forced labor camp in Russia. Maria was born in Bobrowniki Ma1e, Poland and survived much hardship throughout her youth. Maria (Mary) or Babcia Kepa as she was also known to us, was born December 31st 1922 and passed away peacefully September 29th 2017. Just keep trying, and maybe see if there are any particular weak spots you might need to compensate for, and eventually you'll get there. We are sad to announce the death of our dear friend Maria Kepa. But that's a personal choice that may or may not fit your own playstyle. Also building up stats aggressively so that there's a better chance of passing group skill checks (some text events can be passed with high enough group Strength/Fitness/Shooting regardless of individual stats) as well as having better combat skills. I also favour going to locations with safes (Fancy or Secure) for the chance of free higher level weapons if there's nothing noticeably better offered for looting options, and doing human rescues for the chance of a group stats boost from the reward. And pick up every non-Pistol gun and other sellable weapon to trade in for extra Food and the Zombo points and buy the extra supplies from Tnomey if you're not still trying to save them up for the Zombo Town unlocks. Stock up on explosives (Martial Artist is super useful for carrying these in, tossing them, and still being able to fight also for smuggling in extra ammo via spare guns) which are useful when you need to clear some breathing room during a siege faster than most guns will. Mega Maul is cheap at 16 Food and 3-zombie cleave, and if you can get a Scythe for free from the text event or visiting the Farm, it'll be very useful. But in the meanwhile, I'll stuff the characters with multiple lightweight breakables (Meat Cleaver is your friend with 0 cooldown and guaranteed 2-zombie hit and low break chance) instead of weighing them down with heavier unbreakable stuff outside of using those for backup during siege conditions. You just can't trust the AI with him.)Īlso, keep an eye out for ways to boost Kepa's Vitality, like starting a different easier run and opening up enough toilets so that you can wish for Immortality from the Toilet Genie in the Kepa run, and then give him other useful advantages like Sound Sleeper if you run into the Sleepy Trader or Boxing Training (which also boosts Vitality) at Swole Mountain.įor gear, I try to get a good cleaving weapon for Kepa as soon as possible, and also carry a backup to switch to for a single target rather than waste stamina swinging the heavier weapon at less than a full cluster. (Some people advocate keeping him safe in the car during non-siege missions and that's a viable strategy, but personally I find it more useful to have the extra fighter on hand during looting and this way he can also take advantage of Vitality-boosting special encounters. I usually do Civilized with Gun Collector (or other Shooting-enhancing Perk so that I can build up Calm-Shot for more bandit/bear passes, but Gun Collector gives you instant guns and ammo which can be a lifesaver if you don't find decent weapons before the first siege Fighter also supplies a sturdy Hatchet and +2 Shooting/Strength Gungineer Crowbar is a bit too heavy but the extra Mechanical may be necessary with the recent Civilized support stats nerf) and Paranoid Martial Artist (less need to scrounge for early weapons), and control Kepa as my main fighter. You can work around this by stacking the deck with a Civilized and a Paranoid in your starting team so that you have extra passes for text events, and building up the Cool It charges with Kepa when safe as an emergency bandit out (or for getting free trader stuff if you prefer). YMMV, but I find the main danger in a Kepa run isn't really the increased zombies, but the bandits and stuff-stealing bear who take off double hit points and more supplies, and the occasional other fatal text event.
